Acsis was spun off from our parent company, ARMS, in 1996 to specifically focus on the market trend in barcoding and data collection. The Acsis name is derived from Automated Data Collection Solutions in the Supply chain, which was descriptive of its newly focused expertise.
In 2005, Acsis was acquired by Safeguard Scientifics, a publicly-held company located in Wayne, PA. Safeguard Scientifics identified RFID as an area of focus and potential market growth and recognized Acsis as one of the thought leaders and domain experts in this emerging technology.
Based upon that expertise Acsis was chosen to implement RFID-based solutions for thirty of the top 100 Wal-Mart suppliers.
In 2008 Saints Capital acquired Acsis to further strengthen their investment position in the Supply Chain arena with a primary focus on the track and trace and serialization application areas.
Today, with over 1,000 implementations in thirty countries, Acsis maintains its leadership position in the next chapter of supply chain visibility: track and traceability. Acsis solutions go well beyond just providing shop-floor-to-top-floor visibility. As manufacturing companies and brand owners continue to embrace outsourcing for manufacturing, packaging, and distribution, the increased need for visibility across the extended supply chain becomes an urgent, top priority.
